Velociti is proud to continue its longstanding support of Imberbus, one of the UK’s most unique heritage transport events, taking place on 15 August 2026.
For more than 15 years, Imberbus has brought together bus operators, enthusiasts, volunteers and local communities for a one-day event that provides rare public access to the historic village of Imber on Salisbury Plain.
While the event is best known for its impressive fleet of heritage and modern buses, its success relies on extensive operational planning behind the scenes. Since the event’s inception, Velociti, formerly through Omnibus and now as part of the wider Velociti business, has supported Imberbus through the provision of Omnibus scheduling software.
Supporting the operation behind the event
Every year, Imberbus operates a complex network of routes using buses donated by operators and owners from across the industry. Coordinating dozens of vehicles, volunteers and services requires detailed timetable planning to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Using Omnibus scheduling software, the Imberbus team can produce working timetables and bus boards that help manage the logistics of the day.
This partnership demonstrates how technology can support not only commercial transport operations, but also community and heritage initiatives that rely heavily on volunteer support.

A unique event with a lasting impact
Imberbus has grown significantly since it first began, evolving from a one-off enthusiast event into a major fundraising initiative supported by many of the UK’s leading bus operators and transport organisations.
The 2026 event is expected to feature around 40 buses and attract approximately 4,000 visitors. A £10 day ticket offers unlimited travel throughout the day, giving passengers the opportunity to explore the area and visit Imber, a village that is normally closed to the public due to its location within the Salisbury Plain military training area.
Beyond the transport experience itself, the event continues to make a meaningful contribution to charitable causes. Since its launch, Imberbus has raised more than £200,000 for charities and community organisations, including military causes, local charities and the Friends of St Giles Church in Imber. In 2025 alone, the event raised approximately £37,000.
